What processor architecture is your server? The AM2007-SE-Trial.exe is a self extracting EXE file. You can rename it to .ZIP, extract the contents and run splash.hta. Ultimately you will run \Setup\AM2007-Standard.msi. Please let us know how it progresses.

SharePoint stores Approval Status information as integers corresponding to the SPModerationStatusType class. The following integer values can be used to alert on the Approval Status field. Approved : 0 Denied : 1 Pending : 2 Draft : 3 Scheduled : 4

There is a know issue with Alert Manager and the delete alert event. The resolution for this issue is scheduled to be published in the Q4 2008 Alert Manager 2008 refresh.
