    Error with Componenet Configuration manager

Installing the trial version on a stand alone version. Successfully deployed to Central Admin- I am able to manage alerts etc, but ran into errors on the deploying to a content site. I wanted to test AlertManager from an enduser perpective to manage their own alerts.

Ran 90% through and then started to roll back. "Attempted to Perform an unauthorized operation" was the error.

Re: Error with Componenet Configuration manager

I went up to my Site Collection Features and was able to activate the feature for enduser Alert management. However, I am now not sure what the deployment to a content site meant. Can you please clarify? Thanks

Re: Error with Component Configuration manager

This error occurs because the account you are using to install Alert Manager 2009 with does not have access to the content site. Typically, your Farm Administrator account doesn't have access to activate features on content sites unless granted. To correct this issue you can make your Farm Administrator account a Site Collection Administrator of the content site you are deploying Alert Manager 2009 to.

When you deploy Alert Manager 2009 to a content site your site users can use the tool to manage their own alerts. The alert management features the scoping abilities so Site Collection Administrators can manage all alerts for the site collection, Site Owners can manage alerts for the site, List Owners can manage alerts for a given lists and each user can manage their own alerts. You can get the full details of the usage by reviewing the Points of Integration article below...
