    Is there a way to configure the email address of where the alert is coming from? Currently, the default SharePoint alerts get sent from:

    LibraryName [no-reply@******.***]

    And the Alert Manager alerts just get sent from:

    no-reply@******.***

    Is there a way to configure the from email address to display something less generic?

    Yes, Alert Manager 2007 will use the outgoing e-mail address of your SharePoint Farm. If no e-mail address is configured it will use the no-reply@*****.*** address. You can set this address from Central Administration -> Operations -> Outgoing E-mail Settings.
